Laura O'Neal

I'm Laura and I'm an Anthropology undergraduate. I'm set to graduate this upcoming May- Yes, I've waited until the last semester of my senior year to take public speaking, just to give you all an idea of how uncomfortable I am speaking in front of an audience, haha.

I'm a huge advocate of civil rights, I can't stand it when others are disrespectful to their peers simply because of something as trivial as skin color or beliefs. This is not to say only those two aspects of prejudice bother me, but they are the areas I find most frustrating and see the most often.

I hope to use my degree in Anthropology to help people to better understand one another and to accept that we are, fundamentally, all very similar to one another.

I'm also a huge animal person-one of my favorite channels is animal planet, so- there ya go. However, I dislike cats.. I think they are disgusting. I like music, art, Spanish, reading, hearing other people's opinions, and napping.

I hope through this class I can improve my speaking skills, because as we all know communication skills are going to become VERY important after graduation.
